Feed your demons

Home / glossary / Feed your demons

‘Feed your demons’ is a reference to the Tibetan story of ‘Milarepa and the Demons’ in which he learned to dispel demons by providing for their needs, ultimately offering himself as food.

The Buddist practice of Chod is an extension of this concept, and Lama Tsultrim Allione has created a modern version of the practice she calls feeding your demons. As she says, ‘It turns out to be a remarkably effective path to inner integration.’

"Happiness does not come about only due to external circumstances; it mainly derives from inner attitudes." - Dalai Lama
